About Our Cancer Care

Columbia University Department of Urology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, in partnership with the National Cancer Institute-designated Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, is one of the nation's premier urologic cancer treatment facilities. Our doctors help develop and offer the newest medical therapies and surgical procedures for urologic cancers.

At Columbia Urology, we tailor cancer treatment for each of our patients based on the type and extent of their disease, which therapy promises the best chance of a cure, and how each treatment may affect their quality of life.

Our Physicians

Each of our doctors is internationally recognized in his or her respective fields. Columbia Urology surgeons are expert in the full spectrum of state-of-the-art surgical approaches to treating cancer, and employ minimally invasive techniques whenever possible. We work closely with NewYork-Presbyterian oncologists and radiation oncologists to assure that patients who are not eligible for surgery, who require a combination of therapies, or who opt for a different approach receive optimal care.

Doctors at Columbia Urology also serve on the faculty at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where they conduct research on the latest cancer treatments, including clinical trials on a range of novel and promising cancer treatments. Columbia Urology doctors often conduct research collaboratively with each other and with other departments. This provides a comprehensive and integrated research program designed to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and efficacy of treatment.
