Kenneth I. Glassberg, M.D., F.A.A.P, F.A.C.S., is Director of the Division of Pediatric Urology of the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian and Professor of Urology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to his arrival here he served for more than 25 years as Director of Pediatric Urology at SUNY, Downstate where he also did his Urology training. Following residency he completed a pediatric urology fellowship in England at the Great Ormand Streat Hospital for Sick Children and Alder Hey Children's Hospital with the world's two leading pediatric urologists of that era. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Glassberg currently is President of the New York Section of the American Urological Association. He has served as Chairperson of the Section on Urology of the New York Academy of Medicine and President of the New York Pediatric Society and the Brooklyn-Queens Long Island Urological Society. He has approximately 125 journals and chapter publications covering the full span of pediatric urology including congenital anomalies of the urinary tract, incontinence, cystic disease of the kidney, laparoscopy and the surgical management of vesicoureteral reflux, varicoceles, hypospadias and external genitalia. He previously headed the Nomenclature Committee of the Section on Urology of the American Academy of Pediatrics which was responsible for classifying many pediatric urology conditions.

The Division of Pediatric Urology has a Continence and Urodynamic Center to focus on the treatment of children with voiding dysfunction and bladder problems secondary to spinal cord abnormalities.

The Division's basic research lab, headed by Catherine Mendelsohn, is investigating the molecular biology of kidney and ureteral development in an attempt to determine the cause of various congenital anomalies.
