One of the Oldest & Most Accomplished Departments of Urology
The J. Bentley Squier Urologic Clinic at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons was founded in 1928 and is one of the oldest and most accomplished Department of Urology programs in the nation. The goal of our Department is to provide unsurpassed excellence in patient care, research and residency and fellowship training. We are ranked as the number one Urology Residency programs in New York and among the top five in the nation in the US News and World Report review. Our faculty is composed of internationally recognized experts in the fields of Urologic Oncology, benign prostate enlargement(BPH), NeuroUrology/Urodynamics (bladder disorders), Female Urology, Pediatric Urology, Urolithiasis (stone disease), Reconstructive Surgery, Male and Female Sexual Dysfunction, Male Infertility and Robotic/Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Minimally Invasive Approach
Our minimally invasive surgery program — which includes both robotic and laparoscopic surgery — permeates all of the above disciplines and allows us to treat prostate cancer, kidney cancer and many pediatric urology conditions through small cosmetic incisions without compromising cure or outcome. We have extensive experience in robotic prostate surgery — both for malignant and benign disease. Our faculty also specialized in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for kidney tumors, including removal of the entire kidney or only diseased portions when possible.
Adult and Pediatric Services
Our Department offers services for adults at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia, NewYork-Presbyterian/The Allen Pavilion, and Columbia University Medical Center Westside. We offer pediatric services at The Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian.
